13 May Mother’s Day!
The second Sunday in May every year is Mother’s Day, which is a day to thank mother. The first ever Mother’ day was celebrate in ancient Greece and the date of mother’s day we celebrate now come from American. Mothers will receive gifts and flowers. Carnation is regards as the flower representing love to mother.
For people who work out of their own cities, even far away, you probably go home every year only once or twice and no more than a week every time. Even though you are at home, you keep your eyes on laptops and mobile phones for the most of the time. How much time do you spend to share your life with your mother and listen to your mother’s stories?!
Compare to the strong expressivity of western, eastern people are more of a subtle side and more implicative. They prefer to express their hearts in a certain occasion, a certain reason and a certain chance. Therefore, Mother’s Day become a channel for them to express.
What can you send to your mother other than flowers, photos/texts post in Wechat moment and physical gifts?
Teach your mother a new skill. She is probable able to use Wechat to chat after hundreds of time of training class from you. But there are still many new and trendy applications, which beyond your mother’s knowledge. Teach her how to use mobile payment, sharing bike or food delivery service on her mobile. So that she could save a lot of time and not be overwhelmed; she has more free time to do things she likes to do.
Bring your mother to travel. There is not only you in your mother’s world and she deserves a bigger world that she never knows. Bring her to a different city, a different country to try different food, walk on different streets and see different views. She could know traveling is actually far more interesting other than being in a tourist group.
Take a call to your mother. Tell your mother that you love her. You can express yourself more than text sending or photos posting in Wechat. Visiting your mother as often as you can or calling her to have a chat when you have time.
The love to your mother is never about how much and how many gifts you give; it is about what and how much you do for your mother. The way to thank your mother should not only be so, nor should only express your feeling in the second Sunday of May, but on every day.
